1.Tactical prowess seemed to be lacking.
2.USWNT had 1 true Central Midfielder called up by Sermanni. That player came in the form of a very gifted and talented player named Morgan Brian. However he shouldve been continiously calling up other CMs. This wouldve made all the CMs better due to a competitive environment & wouldve solved the problem of not having 2 true Central Midfielders in his 4-2-3-1 / 4-3-3. Thusly, those playees wouldve contributed to our results rather than have our results hindered by lack of CM depth.
3. Failed to get convincing results against strong opposition.
1. Sermanni did very well in his efforts to identify future players & Players who should be in the USWNT fold (Hagen,S.Mewis, Morgan Brian, DiBernardo, Johnston, Tymrak, LeAnn Robinson, Press, Brooks, Horan, Averbuch etc)
2. He got the best performances out of certain players (Holiday, Dunn, Brian, Press, HAO)
3. He didnt completely drop the ball so to speak he had SOME great performances.
Overall he did an average job but as the #1 team in the World I think the USWNT want a manager with more ambition to do well on the World stage and to evolve the playing style and level of play as opposed to just identifying players for the squad. In more than 20 games Sermanni made great strides in identifying players but did very little in developing the style & level of play.
